This is my first restaurant review… maybe a future career path. I think I know someone else who dreams of doing the same thing, hmmm.
The Fox Sports Grill in downtown Seattle opened its doors a little over a year ago. Besides suffering from the “always playing second fiddle to everything ESPN does” syndrome, this is a pretty nice place. The entrance is confusing, and the tables with dining guests seem out of place, but all is well in the world once you are funnelled into the cavernous basement level bar and restaurant. The crowd was a little on the rowdy side, which could be attributed to the Seahawks playing on Monday Night Football for the first time since 1999.
This is not the place to go for cheap drinks. Beers are around $5, the lines are long, and even the waitresses are slow with orders, seemingly do to the long lines at the bar. We ordered a round of appetizers including buffalo wings, barbeque chicken nachos, chicken tenders, and some other variety of nachos. The nachos were by far and away the choicest here. The wings were a little skimpy, and then tenders were insufficient.
When it came time for the main course, I feasted on a Chipotle BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich. It was fantastically spicy, and portioned just about right with half plate of french fries. I also sampled on the Cobb Salad, which was excellent as well.
Overall, a nice place to go and watch a game after work when you are not looking for the smoky sports bar or tavern.
