WOWOWEEWOW - Ruffino Riserva Ducale Oro Chianti Classico 2001
Mar 8th, 2007 | By Sean O'Connor | Category: Europe, Food and Wine, Travel, Wine of the WeekThis weeks choice wine makes me want to say wow-wow-wee-wow (in honor of Borat) with every single drink. This is the one of the best chianti’s that I have ever sipped.

Ruffino: “To pass on the values of the land and its people by means of culture of which wine is apart.”

Sean O’Connor: Anyone who has read more than one of my previous wine reviews has read about my love for all things Italian and my affinity for Italian wines. Specifically, I am drawn to Chianti. Over and over. My wife gave me this bottle of wine on my last day of work at Waggener Edstrom as a going away present. We opened it up tonight with dinner and were both more than impressed. This DOCG Chianti Classico is an 85/15 blend of Sangiovese/Cab-Merlot-Colorino with more than a little hint of cherry. This vino is perfectly balanced while standing firmly on the dry half of the spectrum. I like!
