Yesterday, we were able to tour around the state of Washington at the annual Wine Highway held at Chateau Ste Michelle yesterday. We enjoyed the nice afternoon, some
delicious wines, and interesting foods. Wineries that stood out to me were Dunham, Basel and Gifford Hirlinger…. all from Walla Walla region. This result led Mark and I to wonder if terroir – a true sense of place – is really a factor in Washington wine-making. More about this on a future post … The folks from Willis Hall were also interesting to
talk with, despite being rushed through our tasting. The best food of the day was easily the sliders from Meritage Wine Bar in Redmond and the White Chocolate
Passion Fruit Truffles from Tulalip Casino’s Restaurant. Most memorable though was the time we spent with our friends, chatting about life, the wines, summer finally making an appearance, and adventures – past and present.
