Borsao Tres Picos Granacha
Jun 7th, 2008 | By Mark Stoltz | Category: Food and Wine, Reviews, Wine, Wine of the WeekOur wine of choice at dinner last night was a Spanish grenache, Borsao’s Tres Picos. The last grenache we had was from Washington’s Alexandria Nicole winery, so we were eager to look for the differences. Right off the bat Isabell simply said, “Tastes like a Spanish wine.” The wine took a while to open up, but had excellent berry fruit and earthiness to it. I like wines like these because they are not too fruit forward, they have structure and balance. Ultimately they are great food wines and the Tres Picos is a perfect choice for a backyard cookout (or cook-in if you’ve been in Seattle the last couple of weeks).
